Desktop or Online?
Both. QuickBooks Desktop uses Intuit's Web Connector on the machine that runs QuickBooks; QuickBooks Online connects through Intuit's cloud API with a one-time authorisation.
Does QuickBooks stay my general ledger?
Yes. VARCommerce produces the invoice and pushes the accounting documents; QuickBooks remains the system of record for the books.
