Storefronts

Storefronts your customers buy from, on your catalog and your pricing

A public store to win new business and private stores for each customer, showing their negotiated pricing, their standards and only the products they are allowed to buy. Every order lands in the same order queue as a quote your rep converted.

In one paragraph

VARCommerce storefronts are B2B eCommerce sites built on your distributor-fed catalog. You can run an open public store and unlimited customer-specific stores, each with that customer's pricing, standard products, logo and contract restrictions, including PunchOut for customers who buy from their own procurement system. Orders flow into the same procurement, invoicing and reporting as quoted deals.

Public and private stores

  • Public storefront. Your branded catalog with live stock and your pricing rules, to attract customers who want to buy without calling.
  • Customer storefronts. One per customer if you like: their logo, their negotiated pricing, their standard bundles, and only the products they are approved to buy.
  • Government and agency stores. Contract pricing and permitted products only, which many agencies require. Government VARs →
  • PunchOut / cXML. Customers on Ariba, Coupa, ServiceNow or another cXML procurement system shop your store from inside theirs and the order returns to them for approval. PunchOut →

What a customer can do in their store

  • Search the full catalog with live inventory quantities, or shop from their standards, bundles and customer groups.
  • Search previous orders and quotes, and look up tracking and serial numbers without calling a rep.
  • Per-user security profiles and purchase approval: a requester submits, an approver releases, and only approved users see pricing or place orders.
  • Customise the look with their logo and HTML, and see their pricing profile applied to every product.
  • Your team sees sales history and end-user activity per store to plan the next conversation.

Why storefronts belong in the same system

A storefront bolted onto a separate quoting tool creates a second order queue and a second product catalog to maintain. VARCommerce storefronts read the same catalog, pricing rules and inventory as quoting, and their orders enter the same order and invoicing flow, so a web order and a quoted order are handled the same way.

HP Amplify and vendor program requirements

HP Amplify and similar partner programs expect partners to have a branded storefront and reporting. VARCommerce storefronts meet the storefront requirement without a separate eCommerce project. HP Amplify partners →

Questions buyers ask

Frequently asked questions

How many storefronts can I run?

There is no fixed limit; VARs run a public store plus a store per significant customer.

Can a store show only certain products?

Yes. Each store can be limited to approved products, standards and contract items, with the customer's own pricing.

Does the store use my own domain?

Stores run on a VARCommerce hostname by default and can be presented under your brand; ask during the demo about custom domains for your setup.

Can a customer require approval before an order is placed?

Yes. Purchase approval is set per user, so a requester's order is held until an approver at the customer releases it.

Can customers see their order history, tracking and serials?

Yes. Storefront users search their previous orders and quotes and look up tracking and serial numbers themselves.

Do web orders need re-keying into the back office?

No. A storefront order is a VARCommerce order from the moment it is placed, so procurement, receiving and invoicing follow without re-entry.
